Furdiburb: Version 0.6beta2

Hey everyone,

This latest version should fix the land sensitivity issue. With a motion described as a “long swipe”, you should be able to travel back and forth on the lands.

Enjoy!

Furdiburb Land Sensitivity Issue

Hi everyone,

We heard back from a lot of you that feeding Furdiburb is difficult as the plucking motion causes the land to move. Thanks for letting us know – we do not purposely release an update to annoy you. =) We will be releasing a fix for this soon.

Furdiburb: Version 0.6beta

Thank you for your patience everybody – we have a new update! You can now travel to Boomy Woods by dragging the land from right to left (and return home by dragging left to right). If your Furdiburb hasn’t hatched yet, you can’t travel to the new land, but fortunately we have three different ways of speeding the up hatching process.

Land travel was extremely difficult to develop as we had to use what we could remember from trigonometry and geometry, and the last time we used THAT was in high school (we’re not that old but it has been a while!).

We purposely didn’t put instructions in on how to travel to the new land because, frankly, we haven’t finalized our instruction system to be used in the game. In the final version, we will still want the game to reward users based on exploration and will design the instructions to be somewhat vague.

We hope you enjoy the new music inspired from World of Goo and Edward Scissorhands. You can toggle music and vibration on/off in the menu -> settings.

Bathing is now more forgiving! If he is wet, you can dry him at any time – if he’s dirty he’ll continue to be dirty.

Fixed some bugs related to bathing sickness.

If you are still experiencing disappearing sprouts, please make sure you have the latest version, then email us.

Time-Lapse – Update v1.1.1

Hey guys..
Quick update. We just released v1.1.1 of Time-Lapse and Time-Lapse Lite. This is a minor update and contains some bug fixes for better stability and better device support. As for you Droid and Nexus users out there, please let us know if you have any issues with this update since we have yet to test on those devices.

Thank You!

Furdiburb – what we’re working on

Hello! I’m here to let you guys know what we’re planning for our next release. We want to thank everyone who has emailed us with suggestions. We read all emails, and it takes us a while to respond. We always gather the suggestions we like in a list and go through a choosing process to figure out which suggestions we want to implement for the next release (as well as figure out what bugs we should fix asap). This game is far from finished, and we hope each update makes the game feel more complete.

In our last update, we introduced sickness, so logically, we will be looking to release a cure “soon”. However, our question became, “how to cure?” After some brain storming, we decided that having a medicine bottle grow on a sprout was too predictable. We felt that he should travel to a new land in order to find medicine. After arriving to the new land, there would be a store he could get the medicine from.

But first, he needs to be able to travel, and that is actually very very complicated to develop. We will need to use trigonometry and geometry formulas in order to achieve the effect we want. We anticipate this huge new feature will also introduced a lot of bugs that will take time to fix before this update is ready for release.

So, unfortunately, we probably will not be able to release the medicine shop with our next update. Don’t worry, Furdiburb should get better by himself, and there is no consequence for getting him sick.

So, for our next update,

  • Furdiburb will be able to travel to a new land. We really like the land our artist has come up with!
  • Music – hopefully this will give Furdiburb even more personality.
  • Tweaks to bathing so it isn’t so rigid, and other bug fixes

Until next time, folks!

Furdiburb: Version 0.5beta2 (bug fix)

After the last update, several of you still reported the issue where sprouts disappear and there is no food on the screen. This is an emergency release that should now fix this issue.

Furdiburb: Version 0.5beta

Hi everyone,

  • Furdiburb can get sick now. The squirrels that used to be harmless when fed to Furdiburb are now BAD for him! There are a couple of other ways to get him sick, so you now have the ability to abuse him. Hint: different ways of making him sick will cause him to look differently. But why would you want to do that? (So many of you requested this!)
  • Now you can fling food off the screen to avoid feeding him bad things. We haven’t come up with a way to cure him yet, so he will feel better after about an hour or so. We will probably develop a cure in the next release.
  • Chicken Mama is a new edition to help with the hatching process. There are now three ways you can speed up Furdiburb’s hatching, but you must alternate the ways between each stage progression – you cannot use the same method to hatch him completely from egg to infant. Toss her around the screen to cause her to fly. Be careful not to feed her to Furdiburb! What other uses will we have for the future? Time will tell.
  • Vibrate option – you can now turn vibrate off. Go to Menu -> Settings and uncheck vibrate, for those of you who don’t want to be shaken.
  • Bug fix(es) – several of you reported the most serious bug where, after a while, the sprouts disappear and there is no food on the screen, so he is unable to eat. This should now be fixed. Please let us know if you are still having the issue.
  • Several new fruits (including one that will make him sick) are added as well as some Valentine fruits and poop, which you will experience in February.

Enjoy!

Furdiburb – what we’re working on

Hi everyone! Just a quick update to let you know what we’re working on. The next biggest feature will be sickness. You will then have the ability to abuse him, but why would you want to do that? (So many of you requested this!)

Several of you reported a bug where, after a while, the sprouts disappear and there is no food on the screen, so he is unable to eat. We’re so sorry we’ve stuck you with a sad, sad Furdiburb. Rest assured, Furdiburb will not die of hunger (at least we haven’t programmed him to do that yet). The fix for this bug will come with the next release in a couple of weeks. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Time-Lapse – Update v.1.1.0

Hey guys,

Quick update. Looks like Motorola Droid running AndroidTM 2.0.1 borked some camera functionality (click here for more details on the issue). We added a work around but have yet to test outside of the Droid emulator. If you experience any issues, please let us know so that we can fix them!

Also, we felt bad making everybody else (non-Droids) download this and get nothing, so we added alphabetical sorting on the Time-Lapse movie file list.

Happy New Year!!!1!

Happy Holidays Update

Seasons greetings everyone! We’re happy to announce several big updates to Furdiburb:

  • Droid resolution fix – Droid users can now enjoy Furdiburb in the correct beautiful resolution! This took a while as all the graphics had to be redone. We don’t have access to higher-resolution phones such as The Droid. Please let us know if you see some weird graphics happening so that we can try to fix it.
  • Holiday fruits and poops – enjoy!
  • Dirtiness – your pet can now be a dirty, dirty alien
  • And finally (drumroll) Bathing – you can get rid of the dirtiness by bathing him!

So, Happy Holidays! Enjoy the new features. We’re going to take the week off!
