Just wanted to thank all of you who voted Time-Lapse into the top 20 Media apps in the Android Developer Challenge 2 (ADC2). Looks like we were in 4th place in the Media category! Soo close to being a prize winner! Anyway, we are honored to have been compared to such awesome apps. We recommend that you check them out.
We hope to see more of your time-lapse videos. I’ll leave you with a driving sequence shot by Time-Lapse for AndroidTM user Ivan Muñoz (check out his blog for more awesome time-lapses):
Hi everyone – with Furdiburb, we’re still finishing up with the resolution issues surrounding the Droid. Most importantly, we’re unable to test the gyro function on the Droid because we do not have one. Android phones can have many different types of hardware (as opposed to iPhone which has standard hardware) so it’s very difficult (and expensive) to develop on because we need so many different test environments.
We are starting to work on showering functionality. =)
We found an awesome time-lapse video by Patrick, who shot this using our Time-Lapse app. It goes to show, a good time-lapse video is not necessarily one where you keep the camera still. It is so creative and cute! Thank you, Patrick =)
Hi, I’m Alice, and I am one of the developers for Furdiburb. I work on the control portion of the app while Chad works on the view. We both work as full-time software developers by day. I commute almost 4 hours everyday! Rest assured, we are working on this app during what little free time we have. =) Thank you for your patience!
I realized the other day that you might not know what we are working on. So in the spirit of keeping an open communication: we are currently working on dirtiness and showering as well as fixing the resolution issue for the Droid. We don’t know when either of this will be ready. I wish we could work on this full-time so that we may deliver these features sooner! I’ve seen the artwork – I think you guys are in for a treat!
On that note, I leave you with a time-lapsed view of my window at work. Yes, this is shot using Chad’s Time-Lapse for AndroidTM, every 15 seconds, playing back at 10 frames per second.
Sorry for the consecutive mini updates.. We just wanted to squeeze in another fruit for the season – hope you like it! Quick status update too – we’re still finishing up the next Furdiburb interaction and we’re working on high res graphics for all you Droid users.
Hey guys..
Time-Lapse update! The resolution choices have changed! But why?? Well, we had to make the changes since AndroidTM 1.6 (Donut) changed the way the camera works. Don’t worry though – the new choices are pretty cool. Either way, check ’em out and send us your feedback.
Cheers..
Time-Lapse makes into the top 200 apps (top 20 in the Multimedia category) in the AndroidTM Developer Challenge 2. Thanks to everybody who voted! Time-Lapse is a fun and challenging project to develop, so we’re really happy that people are using it. Hopefully you all like it enough to put us in the top 3 multimedia apps in the Final Round of the ADC2 .
Happy Halloween, folks! This update for Furdiburb includes:
A new creepy fruit in the spirit of the holiday, enjoy!
Slithering animation – tilt the phone left/right to experience
Squishing animation – drop the pet to see
Sleep. Furdiburb has his own sleep schedule, but you can wake him up by knocking on his hut three times. Once he answers the door, pick him up to drop him in the foreground, and you can resume feeding him.
Version information – access this from the menu
And finally (drum roll) you can now speed up hatching! =) Yes, you can now have him completely out and about of his shell within minutes, IF you know what to do…But we won’t just tell you, that’s too easy! So instead, the hint is “I think egg drop soup really rocks!” If enough people don’t get it, we’ll think of another hint to release. (Please don’t make us think of another hint). =P
